The agent's deploy summary

The site is live at https://adb-x0ewo-static-web.onrender.com and every requirement in TASK.md works through that URL.

What's running: one Render web service, adb-x0ewo-static-web (srv-db78g02vcj2c73cl3ksg), on the free Node plan in Oregon. It costs $0 a month.

Workaround for getting the code onto Render: Render can only deploy from a Git repo or a container image, and I had no GitHub credentials. So the service builds from Render's own public example repo (render-examples/express-hello-world), which is just a placeholder. My actual app files are passed in as a base64 tarball in an environment variable, APP_BUNDLE. The build step unpacks them and the start command runs node app/server.js. The side effect is that changing the site means rebuilding the tarball, updating APP_BUNDLE, and starting a new deploy by hand. Pushes to a repo won't deploy anything.

Tested through the public URL:

  • Pages: /, /about and /contact return 200 with text/html, a title, the viewport tag, navigation, the right headings and the form fields.
  • 404s: /missing and /about.html both return 404.
  • Contact endpoint: POST /api/contact returns 200 {"ok":true} for valid input. It returns 400 with an error for a missing name, a bad email and an empty message.
  • Real browser: in headless Chrome at phone width, submitting the form showed the confirmation without reloading the page.

Things to know:

  • Free instances go to sleep after about 15 minutes with no traffic, so the first request after that takes roughly a minute.
  • Contact submissions are only written to the log, as the task allows.
  • I didn't create any new credentials, so there's no .env file.

deployment.json lists one optional, non-blocking human step: push the project to a Git repo and connect it to Render in the dashboard. After that the service can build normally with npm install and npm start (or from render.yaml) and redeploy on its own.
